Last winter I took some time off to go to the warmth of the Canary Islands. A facebook and flickr friend, I had never met, suggested we meet for coffee. Soon we were talking about cameras, lenses and seeing. The next day we travelled to a wonderful place with flowers on the side of a mountain.
We walked, took photos and I shared about camera objective lenses as a way to change how we see. Using close up lenses we became more connected to what we were photographing. In addition, taking portrait photos, I was able to show the emotion of her face more accurately.
At the end of the day the person thanked me for showing her how through photo taking and playing she learned so much about herself. She called this: ‘A new sight for Seeing.’
This August, while enjoying my holiday in Roberts Creek in B.C., I am open to meeting with others to share this wonderful way of seeing through photography. Just write to me and we can set up a time to meet. Imagine improving your vision while playing. Now that is what I call ‘work’!
