A reader wrote this letter: “I had laser eye surgery in 1998 and my vision has been pretty good for years. Last week, I suddenly have had headaches and after a few days realized it’s because my left eye has greatly become myopic. I just learned of the Bates Method last year and I’m hoping it can help me. However, I still am bothered by the headaches and am tempted to go to an eye doctor and get a contact/glasses for my left eye so that I can stop having such a blurry image and headaches all the time. The surprising thing is how fast it came on. I was reading A LOT a few days before this happened – day and night and I’m sure my eyes did not get enough rest. That is why I haven’t gone to the eye doctor yet because I’m trying to rest, palm, sun, etc. However, I’m not sure if any of this will work, since I’ve already had the laser eye surgery. I’m also 38 years old and a mother of 2 young children – aged 5 and 3. Please let me know what you think.”

Dr. Kaplan wrote back: Your letter was forwarded to me today. Thank you for making contact. From what you have described please do consider visiting an eye doctor now, to rule out any disease process before you undertake a vision training approach. Once you have a firm statement from the doctor in terms of what is going on, then I can assist you in designed a personalised approach to training your vision. In spite of the fact that you have had the surgery, there are positive self healing possible when you know exactly what to do. I can guide you in the process long distance. I await to hear what the eye doctor diagnoses. If you have not seen this video watch it –
